Server Administrator
Overview: Reporting to Manager of Technology, this individual will be responsible to manage critical server environment, domain and server applications for highly secure business environment. Primary responsibility is to manage an Active Directory Domain, Intel Servers with Linux and Windows, NAS (e.g. Network Appliance) and SAN environment with Cisco LAN / WAN equipment. Further, this individual will be responsible for managing server applications. The individual would have to work in a team environment with ability to work in a Global support environment. Responsibilities: • Administering LDAP and Directory server. This includes setup, configuring, troubleshooting and updating operating system and server applications. • Administration of Active Message Queue/JMS. • Managing XML schema as well as developing new schemas; including XMLDB • Administration of Apache WEB server. This includes setup, configuration, troubleshooting and using SSL. • Administering Patch management for the Operating Systems and Server Applications. • Manage Windows AD environment including group policies • Setup, configuration and software updates for OpenSSL • Managing postfix mail servers • Log management for monitoring and troubleshooting • Performance monitoring and preventive maintenance of servers • Backup Management using Tivoli Storage Manager • Manage virtualized Server environments (VMWare, XenServer) • Virtualize and Consolidate Standalone servers • Manage NAS Infrastructure (NetAPP) • Proactively manage the performance of servers • Harden the server environment • Patch Management (WSUS / Satellite) • Install Server based application • Manage storage area networks for capacity planning and efficient utilization purposes • Install, upgrade and maintain infrastructure hardware and software including performing daily, weekly and monthly system maintenance • Manage security and the integrity of mission critical systems. Requirements: • Must have more than 7 years of experience on managing server environment • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent • Experience in working with hardware encryptors such as Eracom/Safenet key management units • Expertise and experience in configuring Oracle database clustering and managing SE and EE Oracle database. • Experience in Linux Patch management (e.g. RedHat Satellite/Spacewalk) • Experience in Log Management for troubleshooting and proactive maintenance. • Expertise in Tivoli Backup (TSM) for setup, configuration and troubleshooting. • MUST HAVE MSCE – 2003 or higher • Experience in Microsoft Certificate Authority management • Experience in Microsoft Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) • Experience in managing Name (BIND), SNMP and NTP servers • Expertise in Tomcat application • ISS and Apache Experience • Virtual Server Management and Configuration (VMWare, XenServer) • SAN and NAS Experience • Experience in Intel Server Hardware • Managing Backup & Tape Library System • Sophos Anti-Virus Management • Linux Server management experience (Redhat preferred) • Experience in using Nagios for system monitoring and Log Management • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to develop and deliver presentations to any audience • Proven time management skills to maintain customer service in a high paced environment. • Proven drive for learning new skills, technologies and environments • Proven achievements as a self motivated performer, problem solver, decision maker and risk taker • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds • Project Management skills to multitask as well as deliver on time. Nice to have: • Experience in SQL 2005 or higher • ITIL (V3.0) specifications • Understanding the concept of PKCS #11 • Knowledge of PKI • Programming/Scripting in Languages such as Bash, Java/JVM, Perl and Python • Experience in Windows XP and 7 • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Visio and Project. • Cisco Certifications a plus All applicants must email resumes in MS WORD format to career@innovoice.ca.
